Outside of business hours:
Please phone the emergency number on the sign located just inside the main gate.
For non-urgent issues, please phone the main UK Storage Company phone number. An answer phone is available for messages to be left outside of business hours.
FIRE SAFETY
- A fire extinguisher is located on site near the main gate.
- The fire assembly point is signed and just outside the main gate.
- In the event of a fire, please alert other customers on site, if it is safe to do so, and go to the fire assembly point. For immediate danger, call 999. After the emergency services have been notified, please phone UK Storage Company.
- If it is safe to do so and there is no immediate danger, please use the nearest fire.
WINTRY CONDITIONS
- A grit box and scoop are provided on site near the main gate. If you find the paths icy or slippery, please make use of this facility.
GENERAL SAFETY POINTS
- Avoid leaving boxes or other obstacles in the road or pathways for longer than necessary.
- Please park courteously so that other vehicles can pass easily.
- Never obstruct the main gates for any reason.
- Car parking is at your own risk.
- Your PIN must be entered when entering AND leaving the site. Following another vehicle in through the main gate will result in gate access being denied when you attempt to leave the site.
- Never follow another vehicle through the main gates. This could result in damage to your vehicle and the gates.
- It is a security breach to give your PIN to other customers, however other users can be added to your account if you wish.
- Access to the site is at your own risk.
- Please remember – you are responsible for the actions and safety of your guests.
- This information should be given to them by you, the licence holder, prior to entering the site.
General Information
For the purpose of ensuring that your goods (and other customers’ goods) remain safe and secure at all times, please make sure that the following rules and standards are observed.
While on site, please observe social distancing. If there is already someone unloading or loading where you need to be, please wait until they have finished and are no longer in the area. If you are using a site with a lift, please keep clear while someone else is using it.
The correct entry and exit procedures will have been explained to you by a member of our team upon the creation of your contract. Please contact a member of the team if you are unsure about any of our procedures.
Entry and Exit Procedures:
- Under no circumstances whatsoever are customers permitted to let any unauthorised person on to the premises.
- Please ensure that the gate is closed before you enter or exit the site, and that your own secure PIN code is entered by you upon each entry to and exit from the site. You are not permitted to follow another customer in to the facility.
- Customers are not to attempt to fix open the gate or doors (if applicable).
- If you witness any of the above occurring, please contact a member of staff via the office number shown on the gate or inside the main entrance doors.
- Access to the site will be permitted only while a contract remains paid in full.
Any deviation from our security procedures may cause the immediate termination of a licence agreement.
24 Hour Access / Extended Hours Access:
For those customers who take advantage of access to the facility outside of our standard hours of operation, we would like to remind you that there is an emergency contact number inside the gate or doors at all locations. This number is to be used only in the event of an emergency. Situations that fall in to an emergency category are, but not limited to:
- Requiring an additional unit.
- Being unable to operate the gate, doors or lift.
- To report a fault with the gate, doors or lift.
- Being unable to use or locate your secure lock.
- Being concerned about activity taking place on the facility.
Support for Disabled customers:
Disabled customers or customers who will have a visitor with a disability are required to make this known to a member of our team. This will help us to ensure our disability policy is adhered to, and will ensure that easy and safe unrestricted access can be provided at all times
Storage tips:
- Place heavy or bulky items in the unit first to provide a good packing base.
- Do not place heavy items on sofas or mattresses.
- Always place a protective cover over your soft furnishings.
- Pack seasonal equipment at the front so it is easily accessible.
- Always fully defrost and clean fridge/freezers before storing them.
- Leave fridge/freezer doors open for ventilation and to prevent mould.
- Garden equipment should be clean and lawn mowers should be drained of petrol before storing.
- To aid ventilation, avoid stacking or leaning furniture against outside walls.
Please do not:
- Smoke – Smoking is forbidden in all areas of the facility.
- Allow any pets or animals on the facility at any time (except guide dogs).
- Obstruct or keep open any fire exits and fire doors.
- Allow noise to exceed reasonable levels.
- Solder or use any equipment that may generate heat.
- Obstruct any corridors, stairways or stairwells.
- Carry out any mechanical work or electrical processes.
Refund Policy:
You can cancel a reservation at any time prior to the date of move in. The full reservation fee will be refunded back to the credit or debit card it was originally paid on. The transaction will be reversed and may take up to 10 working days to appear in your account. UK Storage Company are unable to refund on to a card other than the credit or debit card that was originally used.
UK Storage Company do not store any card details. Where this agreement has terminated, and you have paid more of our fees and charges than are due at the termination date, we will refund the balance to you after deduction of any payments due to us. The rental portion of our fees will be refunded to you, less any charges. Refunds in this instance will be made on to the same card that payments had been made from, or if payments are made via Direct Debit, refunds will be made via Direct Credit in to the same bank account. Direct Credits and card refunds can take up to 10 working days to be made.
