No, we do not offer waste disposal services. You are responsible for removing your own waste.

Yes. For safety reasons, at our internal sites we have a maximum permitted vehicle size of 7.5T vehicles.

At our external sites, the maximum permitted size of vehicles is 3.5T and below.

Standard access hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 8:30am to 7pm, and Sunday 9am – 5pm.

24/7 access can be arranged for an additional fee. Please contact us on 0330 202 0602 to arrange.

‘Extended’ hours for Chard and Bristol Central can also be arranged for an additional fee.

If you require multiple units within the same site location or require multiple units across multiple sites please contact our Sales Team at enquiries@ukstoragecompany.co.uk for more information so we can look to meet your requirements.

When providing a third party contents insurance policy, we ask for you to produce a policy which adheres to the following criteria:

  • The name of the insurance company
  • A sum insured which will cover the value of the goods being stored at our facility (must meet our minimum requirement for your size unit).
  • Start and end dates of cover
  • The UK Storage Company site address as the location
  • The cover provided is equal to, or better than the perils included in our own insurance

Please note, you must also inform your insurance company that UK Storage Company do not have staff on the premises during opening hours.

Yes. As stated in our Terms and Conditions, it is a contractual requirement that all customers must either take out contents protection through our enhanced liability protection called Store Protect, or provide proof of their own third party insurance cover policy for goods in self-storage.

Our Enhanced Liability Service provides contents protection for your goods while in storage. This is called StoreProtect. All information surrounding this can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

None of our units have electricity, and this service cannot be provided. Units cannot have phone lines, and Wi-Fi isn’t currently available but may be available in the future.
Many of our rooms 250sqft and above have lighting present withing the unit itself.

Rooms below 250sqft with no lighting fitted can have lighting installed at an agreed cost and on a case by case basis if essential.

All of our sites have adequate hallway and external lighting.

Yes, trolleys are available for customer use on site only.
Many of our units above 250sqft have double doors in place to aid with easier access when loading and unloading.

Units below 250sqft have a single door fitted, with the exception of handful of units at selected sites.

Yes, all of our sites have free parking for customers when loading and unloading goods to and from the storage unit.

The standard minimum storage term is 14 days.

Selected units and stores have a minimum stay of 28 days.

This includes all stores and units 400sqft and above, and all unit sizes up to and including 50sqft at the following sites: Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Bristol, and Plymouth.

Customers can log in to their account on our website or our app to update their details
No, you must sign the contract yourself. However, once you have signed the contract, you can authorize others to access your unit on your behalf. Cheques and cash are not accepted.
  • Personal Customers: Photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence) and proof of address (such as a utility bill or bank statement).
  • Business Customers: Company registration number, letter of authority, photo ID, and proof of address.
  • Authorised Access Customers: Photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence).
Reservations are secured with a £10 refundable deposit. This amount is credited to your account against your first month’s rental when you move in. If your circumstances change, the deposit is fully refundable if you cancel before the reservation date.
  • Decide on the space needed: Use our online size estimator to determine how much space you require.
  • Reserve your unit: You can reserve your storage unit online or by calling us.
  • Check in online: Complete the check-in process online before you arrive.
  • Pack and transport your items: Pack your items securely and bring them to the storage facility.
  • Move your items into your storage unit: Load your items into the storage unit.
  • Lock your unit: Secure your unit with the barrel lock (comes with a set of three keys).
  • Access your items: You can access your items anytime during our opening hours. Extended or 24/7 access is available if required for an additional fee.
If you lose your keys or are unable to access your unit, we can arrange for your lock to be replaced. This may incur a one-off charge to arrange for the service.

Yes, contact our customer services team admin@ukstoragecompany.co.uk to amend your move-out date. Payments will continue until you inform us that you have vacated the unit.
You need to give 14 days’ written notice to move out of a storage unit, and 28 days’ notice for larger rooms (400sqft and above), and parking spaces.

Please also contact us on the day that you vacate your unit so we can close your account.

Leave the unit clean and take your lock and keys with you.

No, as long as you have completed the online check-in and completed payment for the first months storage.

In addition to the above, anyone accessing your unit must be authorised for access on your account.

Contact us immediately if you have problems with payment, and we will try to work with you to resolve the issue.
You can update your payment method by visiting My Account on our website or our app.
Yes, refunds are processed on a pro-rata basis if you leave early. Any credits on your account will be refunded within 21 days.

A 14-day cooling-off period applies from signing the storage agreement but is waived if the unit is used.

If your account is overdue, you won’t be able to access your unit until you pay. If your account is 7 days or more overdue, you’ll be charged a late payment fee of £12.50 or 12.5% of the outstanding monthly storage rental, whichever is greater.

Payment made after specific hours will result in access being granted the next working day.

Our standard invoice period is one month, and invoices are available on your account 10 days before they are due for processing payment.
You’ll be charged when you complete your online move-in, and your first month’s invoice will be due at this time.

Our standard payment terms are via Direct Debit. It’s a simple, secure, and convenient way to ensure your payments are made on time. Payments can also be made by credit/debit card or bank transfer; other fees may apply.

Yes, you can change to a larger or smaller unit based on availability. Just contact us on the day to arrange a unit transfer.

Yes, it guarantees your space. The reservation fee is £10 and is refunded against your rental cost when you move in or if you cancel before the reservation date.

Security is a top priority at UK Storage Company.

Our locations feature 24-hour CCTV, secure PIN code access, and individually secured units with specialized barrel locks.

Customers hold the only keys to their units.

Yes, you can arrange a visit by calling your chosen location during office opening hours.

No, sleeping or living in storage rooms is strictly prohibited and will result in a breach of contract.
No, but storing items in boxes helps maximize space and protect your belongings.
We use a barrel lock and keys that are designed for use at our UK Storage Company sites. Unfortunately customers are unable to use their own lock and keys.

The lock and keys (set of three keys) will be in the unit prior to your arrival once having completed check in online.

Our units are nor temperature controlled, and are maintained at an ambient temperature.

All units at our Redruth site have an internal heater fitted within the unit to give added protection to your goods.

All of our external units are insulated and have an anticondensation roof.

A PRIME unit comes with improved access and is generally located on the ground floor or next to a lift if located above ground level.

A STANDARD unit is located on the first floor or above within the site and has an improved unit rental rate compared to a prime unit.
